Arrivals & Departures

A project with local choirs on the same theme

Dave Evans of the Rodllian Academy invited Peter to work with groups of adults in Rothwell and Middleton, co-writing songs based on their lives and experiences. Later this was expanded to a workshop project involving three choirs, culminating in a performance in the Rodillian Festival, at Rothwell Holy Trinity Church on 7th July. The choirs performed their own material supported by Schwa, augmented by Barkley McKay on piano & bass and Will Fletcher on drum kit. In the second set the new songs were sung by Schwa (vocal duties by Peter, Jacqui and special guest Thanda Gumede), with the choirs and Rothwell Temperance Band featured, in specially commissioned arrangements composed by Richard. This project was part of the Rodillian Festival with kind support from Leeds Inspired.
